SNAP

SNAP benefits were delayed and disrupted for the first time in decades.
Even though November benefits ultimately arrived, the federal shutdown and ongoing court battles have left hundreds of thousands of New Jersey families in a state of uncertainty and food banks bracing for unprecedented demand.

Office of the Food Security Advocate

The New Jersey Office of the Food Security Advocate (OFSA), the first executive-level office of its kind in the nation, is tasked with coordinating the administration of the State's food security programs, advocating for those who are experiencing food insecurity, and developing new policy initiatives to advance food security and facilitate greater access to food relief programs.

Partners in the Fight Against Hunger

We can’t fight hunger without a lot of help.  Across New Jersey, our partners are the backbone in our fight against hunger, connecting neighbors to meals, resources, and hope. They are on the frontlines feeding families, reducing waste, and building stronger, more resilient communities across NJ.

SNAP

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is lifeline for many New Jersey households, helping families and individuals put food on the table by providing monthly benefits to purchase groceries. All eligible SNAP households in New Jersey receive a minimum of $95 per month, thanks to a supplemental payment from the State.

School Meals

Every child deserves a healthy meal to fuel their learning. New Jersey schools provide nutritious breakfasts and lunches so students can focus on their studies—not their hunger.  New Jersey has expanded eligibility for more families to receive low or no cost schools meals, to ensure no student goes without nutritious food.
